Happy Holidays and New Year from the Integrated Science Lab (IceLab) to all our our members, affiliates, funders, collaborators, and friends!

A special thank you to all that took part in our activities in 2023, giving Lunch Pitches or contributing to the discussions, learning to ask interdisciplinary research questions at IceLab Camp, joining our book club and other internal events, evaluating projects and candidates for our postdoctoral program, coming to visit us and learning more about what we do. IceLab succeeds thanks to you.

2023 has been a very special year for IceLab at Umeå University. The continued support of the Kempe Foundations ensured another year of the IceLab multidisciplinary postdoctoral program, with three new postdocs starting in the New Year. The support of both Kempe and KBC supported IceLab Camp, allowing us to offer a valuable experience for no or low cost to promising interdisciplinary researchers based not only in Umeå but internationally. KBC’s continued support for the Lunch Pitches has also allowed us to continue to connect researchers and launch new collaborations.

Last but by no means least, the trust and support that Vetenskapsrådet / Swedish Research Council has placed in IceLab with the success of our bid to establish the Center for Modeling Adaptive Mechanisms in Living Systems under Stress has been truly transformative. 2024 will bring great things!
